Walking in Light ; Abiding in Love

The theme is Walking in Light ; Abiding in Love, based on the apostle John's first epistle.

1 John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another....

1 John 4:16 ...God is love and he who abides in love, abides in God, and God in him.

The focus is on youth - culture. It has taken a 180 degrees turn from what the culture used to be in olden times. Youths have become more sophisticated. When the first mp3 player was released in 1998, not one youth could afford it. Now, every youth (we are talking from 13 to 20 years old) have at least one (Ipod / mp3/mp4). Similarly with cellphones. Technology has life on its own - always growing, not day by day but every minute. Stylish cellphones lure and seduce youths to switch phones in like every 2 months (don't know whether its still happening). However you get the point.
Social networking is another issue which will be tackled by our speaker Micheal Lim from Jalan Imbi Chapel.
Why do you have 3 Facebooks accounts? Oh, I'm sorry, 5!!! For playing games? Increasing your status? You can be different in many ways. Not following the trend of today's corrupted society - which has a mindset of having the upper hand on the other. NEWS FLASH : GOD HAS THE UPPER HAND ON EVERYBODY EVERY SECOND OF THE DAY. He has given you the opportunity to be on His side and not on the worlds. You cannot be in the middle. One day you have to chose.

COME AND JOIN US IN THIS CAMP. IT COULD BE YOUR CHANCE TO CHANGE SIDES. WALK IN THE LIGHT OF GOD, BECAUSE WHEN WE ABIDE IN LOVE (GOD IS LOVE), GOD ABIDES IN US.

3. That new youths will come next year. (Add to our numbers people)
4. That the older ones - Anthony, Joey and Sam will be able to serve in the committee
5. That the youths do not find it bored and dutiful to come every Sunday

Final Destination

Final Destination. A phrase which is known world wide, everybody dies in one way or another - freakishly. How if we put it in a different way. People die, yes all people will die because of sin. Similar with the movie. But what is YOUR final destination when you die. HEAVEN / HELL. I know it's a taboo word for many conservatives - I can imagine many saying "Choi Choi", "Touchwood Touchwood" - where it should not be spoken of. (To be honest, I don't really know what "touchwood" means. If someone can really explain to me, why touch a wood? Why not metal or plastic?)

Belivers in The God of Heaven believe that when we die, we go into heaven to be with GOD, ETERNALLY / FOREVER / NEVER ENDING / AGELESS / UNCEASING. (John 3:16 - For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten so, and whosoever BELIVES in Him shall have ETERNAL life) So, where is YOUR final destination. Its a choice between HEAVEN / HELL.

Update this blog as I, myself will try to add in some also. Post your group activities, games or anything that you think will inspire friends to come to our youth group at Desa Aman. Leave comments, but will be filtered as said. Upload pictures, relevant articles. This is not MY blog. This is OUR blog. As I've said negative elements will be removed.
